If We Only Look at Conversion %
Let me be clear: I suck at selling if we’re measuring by conversion rates alone. Why? Because I refuse to rely on chicanery, trickery, or BS sales tactics.
I operate differently—with my fundamental concerns and those of my clients at the forefront. No fluff. No manipulation. Just the real deal.
Every Exchange of Value is a Transaction
Most people refer to these exchanges as “sales.” But transactions don’t just mean products or services.
Every time you:
➡️ Share an opinion
➡️ Recommend a book
➡️ Pitch a solution to a problem
…you’re engaging in a form of selling.
But here’s the real question: What are you selling today? And more importantly, why does it matter?
The Problem with Selling
“Selling” gets a bad rap because of those pushy salespeople and manipulative tactics we’ve all endured.
I get it—I’ve had my fill of that crap too. That’s why I refuse to operate that way. I won’t play the game of fast, cheap, and easy solutions to BIG, complex problems.
But here’s where we can flip the narrative:
At its core, selling is about helping. It’s about saying, “I have something that can make your life better, easier, or more fulfilling.”
And yes, that’s still selling. Even “servant leadership” is selling—an offer of help to people or companies. The difference is it’s selling with service at its heart.
Why This Kind of Selling is HARD
When you believe in what you’re offering, selling becomes a way to create value. But it’s not easy.
Why?
Because the rest of the world is either:
😔 Still blindfolded by the wool that’s been pulled over their eyes, or
😔 Completely overwhelmed by the constant noise from charlatans selling snake oil.
Selling with integrity means going against the grain—and that’s tough.
Want to Build Real Trust?
Here’s the magic formula:
✅ Be Transparent.
✅ Be Real.
✅ Be True.
Trust is everything when it comes to connection. And one of the fastest ways to build it is by being upfront:
➡️ Be clear about what you’re offering.
➡️ Explain the value it brings.
➡️ Share why it matters.
Will it be easy? No.
Transparency is uncommon, and people fear what they don’t understand. But when you’re honest about your intentions, something incredible happens:
✨ Skepticism fades.
✨ Connection grows.
And the best part? When you transact from this place, the results are 100x better.
A Quick Litmus Test for Authentic Offers
Before you make your next “sale,” ask yourself these three questions:
1️⃣ Am I crystal clear about the problem I solve and who I solve it for?
2️⃣ Am I honest about the trade-offs (price, effort, or time required)?
3️⃣ Am I inviting collaboration instead of trying to control the outcome?
If you can say “yes” to all three, you’re not just selling—you’re serving with integrity.
And while I’m not a fan of the word “integrity” (you know I hate that word), it’s the best one for this.
The Mindset Shift You Need
The most successful people I know don’t sell just to make ends meet. They sell because they genuinely believe in the value they create.
They’re not afraid to put their offers out into the world because they know their offers are worth it.
Now, here’s the real challenge: Are your offers worth it? Do you believe in them enough to proudly stand behind them?
The Hard Truth About Selling with Integrity
If you answered “yes,” then get ready—because it’s going to be HARD.
This kind of selling doesn’t follow the rules of quick wins or overnight success.
But here’s the reward: Selling this way isn’t about the transaction. It’s about the transformation you create for others.
So, what are you selling today? And how will it make a difference?
Let’s talk about it in the comments.👇
